Promotion of Dairy Entrepreneurship Development(PDE)
 
  Objective
  • • To promote setting up of modern dairy farms for production of clean milk. • To encourage heifer calf rearing thereby conserve good breeding stock. • To bring structural changes in the unorganized sector so that initial processing of milk can be taken up at the village level itself. • To bring about upgradation of quality and traditional technology to handle milk on a commercial scale.
 
  Eligibility
  • Farmers, Individual Entrepreneurs and SHGs are eligible to avail credit facility under the scheme. An individual shall be eligible to avail assistance for all the components under the scheme but only once for each component. More than one member of a family can be assisted under the scheme provided they set up separate infrastructure at different locations. The distance between the boundaries of two such farms should be at least 500 meters.
 
 Purpose
  • To generate self-employment and provide infrastructure mainly for unorganized sector.
 Amount:
  • On receipt of loan application from the entrepreneurs, Branches are required to appraise the project and maximum up to 90% of the project cost should be considered as Bank Loan to the eligible applicants.
 Margin
  • Minimum 10 % of the outlay (Project cost)
 Security :
  • Prime security - Bank’s charge on the assets created out of loan Collateral security should be insisted for loans above Rs100000/-.
 Repayment :
  • Repayment period should be fixed depending on the nature of activity and cash flow from the purpose for which loan is granted. Grace/ Holiday period of 3 to 6 months in case of dairy farming and 3 years for calf rearing units should be allowed and loan repayment period should be fixed on the total amount of the loan (including subsidy) in such a way that the subsidy amount is adjusted after liquidation of net bank loan (excluding subsidy). The loan under the scheme is repayable in monthly / quarterly / half yearly installments depending on the cash inflow from business within 3 to 7 years. In case of dairy farming, the loan is repayable in 60 EMI with maximum holiday period of 6 months.
